Giving to Centenary Community Ministries
Centenary Community Ministries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN: 80-0307351) whose mission is to develop sustainable communities through the revitalization of people and place.
Our vision since 2009 has been to create and implement programs that would provide sustainable and stopgap services to our neighboring communities including Bealls Hill, Napier Heights, Pleasant Hill, and the downtown Macon area. Our signature programs include a Transitional Housing program for men in recovery from substance abuse, financial assistance for low-income families who have fallen behind on utility and rent bills, a Sunday morning breakfast and shower program for our homeless neighbors, a community garden and a bicycle recycling program.
Centenary Community Ministries has helped families facing eviction to remain in their homes by keeping the lights on; it has helped men in addiction find recovery, safety, and a prosperous future free of their addiction; it has also offered sustainable resources like clothes, transportation, and food to neighbors with little to nothing in their name. This is all guided by our core belief that everyone in our community should be treated justly and with dignity.
However, as a small non-profit organization, our funds and resources are often limited. If our mission speaks to you or your business, we encourage you to considering donating your time and gifts in any of the following ways:
UPCOMING FUNDRAISER
Come carve a Jack-O-Lantern or paint a mini pumpkin during our Supper & Pumpkin Party! Co-hosted with Centenary Church, we will join in a meal in the Fellowship Hall and then head to the Community Garden for a fun Fall festival with pumpkins.
give a Gift or
monthly
pledge
According to a Gallup poll, 17% of adults surveyed felt lonely on any given day. These figures are higher among low income adults at 26% and underserved populations like the ALICE families we serve in our Financial Outreach ministry (asset-limited, income constrained, and employed). This is doubled in homeless and food insecure populations like our Community Breakfast participants.
If 30 people pledged to give a gift of $50 every month, that would cover the cost of our Community Breakfast expenses for one year. A $150 monthly pledge could keep at least 10 families from falling behind on a utility bill this year alone. These recurring gifts keep our vulnerable neighbors fed, clothed and cared for. Be sure to schedule your payment to run monthly! Help us do our part in supporting Homelessness Prevention in Macon.
GIVE a
bike
Reliable transportation is hard to come by for folks starting over with nothing! Do you have a gently used bike you’re not using? Consider making a tax-deductible donation of your bike to our programs!
We are unable to receive donations of bike that do not ride or are deemed unsafe.
