Building Community & Rebuilding bicycles
Re-Cycle Macon is a program operated by Centenary Community Ministries, Inc. We take small steps toward transportation equity and community justice by pairing those in need of reliable transportation with an upcycled bicycle, helmet and lock.
HOW WE DO IT
Through direct referrals from agencies like Daybreak, Brookdale Resource Center, the Salvation Army, and River Edge, this program seeks to support the upward mobility of those in vulnerable circumstances. These include houseless clients, those navigating food inequity, and those in addiction and/or recovery.
HOW DOES IT HELP
A bike gives our clients access to better support by making their trek between shelters, medical appointments and food sources easier. Additionally, we have the support of the best mechanics in Macon who meet quarterly to upcycle 20 bikes per quarter in service of their community.
